The APEXi Power Intake for Mitsubishi EVO 4 / 5 / 6 97-00 is a top-tier air filter specifically designed to optimize horsepower. Drawing inspiration from racing machines, the intake utilizes a unique funnel design where air travels along the side of surfaces, with the center portion remaining underutilized. To address this issue, the Power Intake features a Dual Funnel design, with a primary funnel on top to channel air directly into the lower funnels at the base. Building upon the success of the previous Super Intake model, the Power Intake boasts improved flow characteristics, thanks to its new funnel design, element material, and air flow channeling capabilities. By using a durable injected resin for the upper and lower funnels, engineers were able to achieve an ideal shape that was not possible with stainless steel. The funnel shapes are strategically engineered to increase air speed while maintaining the same flow direction, resulting in a smooth, high-speed flow of air into the intake.
The APEXi Power Intake for Mitsubishi EVO 4 / 5 / 6 97-00 features a newly developed material - a layer filter of dry density fibers that increases the element density for maximum protection against foreign materials entering the engine. Compared to previous models, the Power Intake also reduces ventilation resistance by approximately 10% (pressure loss), ensuring peak performance and protection. This dry-type filter eliminates common issues associated with wet type cleaners, such as oil sticking to the air flow meter, making it virtually maintenance free. If filter replacement is needed, it can be done at a low cost.
