The A'PEXi Power Intake for 89-91 Mazda RX-7 is a superior air filter designed to maximize horsepower. Unlike traditional racing machine intakes that utilize only the sides for air travel, the Power Intake uses a Dual Funnel design to optimize air flow. By inserting a primary funnel on the top of the air cleaner and channeling air directly into the lower funnels at the base, this design improves flow characteristics and has been proven successful in the former Super Intake model. Further improvements in funnel design, element material, and air flow channeling make the Power Intake one of the most efficient air cleaners on the market, with a high speed and smooth flow of air thanks to the ideal funnel shape constructed from durable injected resin. Engineers have also engineered a 14-degree curve and positioned the lower funnel closer to the base for maximum efficiency and reduced drag. Say goodbye to dead spots with the Power Intake.
The newly developed material (layer filter of dry density fibers) used in the Power Intake significantly increases the element density, providing exceptional protection against foreign materials entering the engine. Its ventilation resistance has been reduced by approximately 10% (pressure loss) compared to previous models, resulting in improved overall performance and protection. Featuring a dry-type filter, the Power Intake eliminates issues commonly associated with wet type cleaners, such as oil sticking to the air flow meter. Additionally, it requires minimal maintenance and any necessary filter replacements are cost-effective.
